El Festival Hispano: The Spanish Department will once again present El Festival Hispano, Friday, November 6, 2009. This is an event open to Spanish 100, 101, 102, 200, 203, and 204 students. The festival will consist of a variety of activities for the students will participate in such as the restaurant, the El Prado Museum, the travel agency, the traditional market, flamenco dance, table games, and movie stars. Please announce this event in your Spanish 100, 101, 102, 200, 203, and 204 classes.
20th Anniversary of the Fall of the Berlin Wall: The WVU German Club in collaboration with the WVU History Club commemorates the 20th Anniversary of the Fall of the Berlin Wall. We invite you to join us in the festivities. November 2-9, 2009 on the Downtown Campus. See below:
Berlin Wall: Monday, November 2, 2009: Re-Construction of the Berlin Wall (on display from the 2nd through Nov. 9th). Stop by WVU Downtown Campus-the green space near the Life Sciences Building -to experience a symbolic replica of the Berlin Wall. Feel free to add your own graffiti to our wall! FREE graffiti supplies available from 11:00 am-2:00 pm Monday-Wednesday at the site of the wall.
Berlin Wall: Tuesday, November 3, 2009: A Discussion Forum: Remembering the Fall of the Berlin Wall—Twenty Years After, 6:00-7:30 p.m., G-4 Woodburn Hall. This event will commemorate the historic opening of the Berlin Wall that occurred on November 9, 1989. It will feature brief presentations and an informal discussion in which participants are encouraged to share their own experiences or ask the presenters questions. Presenters include Katherine Aaslestad, Diana Kietzmann, and Marlies Watermann. The event is moderated by Dr. Deborah Janson.
